If you don’t have any financial problems, it is suggested that you buy a property in Turkey, through which you can get Turkish passport and citizenship. In this way, you will be recognized as a Turkish citizen and you can use all the rights that Other Turkish people benefit from it.
On June 6, 2022, the Turkish Immigration Department updated the prohibited neighborhoods in Turkey and increased these areas to 1200 neighborhoods.
Turkey announced some neighborhoods as forbidden neighborhoods in the country for foreigners, and in these neighborhoods new foreigners and those who have not lived in these neighborhoods and registered addresses can no longer apply for residence and address registration.
According to this law, the neighborhoods where 25% of the residents are foreigners will be prohibited from obtaining residency and address registration for new foreigners.
The reason for this law is the increase in the cost of living for Turkish citizens, which is due to the high purchase of immigrants in Turkey.
Due to the spread of the corona virus, the Turkish government stopped the law restricting the acceptance of immigrants through tourist residence, and people who immigrated to Turkey and applied for Turkish residence could obtain this residence through renting a house.
With the beginning of the 2022 and the reduction of corona patients and the start of the normalization process of all countries, the government of Turkey decided to implement the law stated in 2019 about not allowing tourists to stay in prohibited areas.
This law is for people who get residence for the first time and not for renewal. According to this law, tourist residence and permanent residence are not given in the prohibited areas, whether through property purchase or rent. But we still emphasize that these restrictions do not include the purchase of properties above 400 thousand dollars, because they are citizenship, not residence. Similarly, people who are extended are not included in this law.
Tourist accommodation is one of the easy and low-cost methods. Kymlik (Turkish ID card) takes between 1 and 3 months to be issued. For this reason, it is better to apply for your residency process early so that you can receive Turkish residency before 89 days of visa-free stay, so as not to be fined for being in Turkey.
Therefore, before buying a property, it is necessary to get the statistics of the desired area from the municipality of the area, and if the capacity of that area is not filled, you should buy it from foreigners.
If you buy a house, open a business in these neighborhoods, are a registered university student, or if you are married to a Turkish citizen, you cannot register an address in the Turkish Land Registry.
